Urban Decay Stay Naked Concealer

90643070_2483634591897094_2270702746438991872_n_edited.jpg

This is what it says on the Urban Deay website:

Meet Stay Naked Correcting Concealer, our vegan, real-skin matte concealer with 25% more pigment and full coverage that lasts up to 24 hours.

With an expanded range of 25 shades, there’s enough coverage to go around. Our Stay Naked Concealer lineup features 9 shade intensities, 3 mastertones, and 5 undertones. Use this flexible, real-skin matte finish concealer for just about anything, from covering imperfections to highlighting cheekbones.

The patented wave tip applicator makes it easy to get the right level of coverage—use the flat side for precise, light application or lean into the curve for smooth glide-on application and heavier dose of product.

So, I love the Urban Decay Stay Naked foundation, so of course I had to try the concealer as well, and I’m very glad I did.

Now, on the box it says that this is a: “buildable full coverage, flexible, breathable, waterproof, real-skin matte finish concealer that doesn’t transfer.”
And I do agree with those claims, because it is a high-medium coverage, but you can build it up. And it doesn’t look heavy with two layers, so I do really like that. And a little goes a long way, so you don’t need to use a lot of product, which is something I appreciate.

Now, when it comes to the matte finish claim, I totally agree. And it really doesn’t crease on me, even if I don’t set it, and most concealers crease on me, so I’m very impressed with that.
However, if you do set it with powder I will recommend that you use a very light hand, because it will look a bit heavy if you apply too much, so that is something to keep in mind.

But, other than that this feels very lightweight, it lasts all day and it is waterproof.
So if you’re looking for a high-coverage, easy to work with concealer, I do recommend checking this out.

This is available on UrbanDecay.com for $29.

So, I’ve been really into cream contouring latley, and I love the Smashbox contouring sticks for that. However, I wanted to try something else, so I got this palette from Makeup Revolution and so far I do like it, but I’m not too impressed.

Now, when I first tried this palette I have to admit that I didn’t get the best first impression of it.
Mostly because the contouring shades was either too light or too dark, and I also feel like most of the shades are more like bronzers on my skintone.
But I do feel like they are good as bronzers, and I don’t find that there’s a lot of patchyness when I use them, so I do like them for that, but it’s not what I expected.

Now, as far as the highlighter shades go, I do like them, except for the shimmery one. That shade is just too greasy looking for me, and I’d much rather use a powder highlight.
But, overall I can definetly get some use out of this palette, and I don’t think it’s bad for the price. But I don’t think it’s a palette that will blow you away. And I also think that it only works for light to light-medium skintones, so I wish that they’d have a few different palettes to suit all of us.

Please let me know if you’ve tried it, and what your thoughts are.

I got mine from Beatybay.com for 87nok.

Review| The Ordinary Coverage Foundation.

jhdr

This is what it says on TheOrdinary.com

Coverage Foundations are full-coverage formulations available in a comprehensive shade range across 21 shades. These foundations contain higher pigment levels than our Serum Foundations but still offer a smooth finish that avoids the heavy makeup look that can make skin appear more aged. The texture is that of a lightweight, non-oily cream.

The pigments used in these formulations are treated for a rich, highly-saturated effect. These pigments are suspended in our proprietary spreadability system that allows pigments to look natural on the skin, resist collecting within fine lines and stay on for longer. The foundations offer a semi-matte finish and are compatible with most primers and are designed to work exceptionally well with the primers offering from The Ordinary.

So, I’ve been using, and loving, some of the skincare products from TheOrdinary for a while now, and I’ve been curious to try some of their makeup products as well.
And I do really like the claims this one have on having full coverage without the heavy makeup look, and the claim that it’s supposed to offer a smooth finish.
But I have to say that I’m a bit disappointed with this one.

Now, when it comes to coverage, I do find it to be a high medium, buildable coverage, so it does hold up to that claim.
However, it just looks too heavy on me. It clings to my dry pathes, it almost makes my skin look more textured than it is, and it settles in my fine lines.
So I almost feel like I need to have a beautysponge with me at all times so I can try to fix that.
And I don’t want to have to constantly be thinking about how my makeup looks.
And I also have to touch up my t-zone every couple of hours when I’m wearing this, because it gets very greasy. And that’s just not for me.

So, overall I don’t like it. It provides a good coverage, but that’s about it, in my oppinion.
But I’m curious to hear what you guys think about it?

It’s available on theordinary.com for 6.90EUR.

Review | Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation Stick

jhdr

This is what it says on the Makeup Revolution website:

Foundation just got faster! Launching in 18 shades and a range of undertones, Fast Base Foundation quickly perfects, contours and highlights your complexion. The easy-to-apply stick formula melts into skin, blending seamlessly to leave a fresh and dewy finish.
Twist up, swipe on and blend out with fingers, a beauty sponge or your favourite foundation brush.

So, I’ve always been very curious about stick foundations, because I feel like they don’t take as much work as liquid once does. So I ordered a few of these from Makeup Revolution, but I’m really not impressed with them.

Now, the first thing I noticed is that they feel very waxy on the skin, and they did also feel a bit too heavy/cakey for my liking. But I thought they might look better once they’d warmed up to my skin a little, because I have tried a lot of foundations that just need a little time before they look amazing.
Sadly these are not one of those.

Now, the other thing I didn’t like about this foundation, is that it emphasized dry patches I didn’t even know I had.
It actually looked like I never exfoliate my skin, and I exfoliate weekly, both with a physical scrub(once a week), and with a chemcial exfoliator (2-3 times a week). So I was very surprised when I saw that.

However, when it comes to coverage I’m not that disappointed.
It does provide a medium+ coverage, and I could also build it up a little on the parts where I needed a little bit more. However, if you build it up too much it will look a lot heavyer than it does from the beginning, so that is something to keep in mind.
But, other than that the only thing I like about this foundation is that it does last all day, without too much fading. So there are a few positives to it.

But, overall it didn’t really hold up to any of the claims I say, and it’s just way too heavy-feeling (and looking) for my liking.
So I can’t recommend this foundation.

However, if you’ve tried it, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it down in the comment section. 🙂

Swatches

So, I got this palette as a gift with purchase a while ago, and I remember hearing alot about BH Cosmetics back when beauty-youtubers was just starting to become a thing.
So I got really excited because I’ve never really tried anything from them before, and I haven’t been able to stop using this palette since I got it.

Now, this palette does contain 22 eyeshadows. 14 mattes, 6 shimmers and 2 bigger pans, which I consider to have more of a metallic finish.
And it does have a beautiful range of shades from neutrals to a few more colorful shades, so you can easily create a lot of different looks with it.

So, when it comes to the matte shades, I find them to be very easy to work with.
They are very pigmented, and they blend out very beautifully. However, they can blend away a little if you’re not careful.
But they are very buildable at the same time, so you can easily fix that if you’ve over-blended them, but it is something to keep in mind.

Now, when it comes to the shimmer shades I don’t have anything bad to say.
They look so beautiful and even on the eyes, and they apply nicely with both a brush and your fingertip.
Of course, you do get more color payoff with your fingers, like you do with most shimmer shadows, but they do show up alot more with a brush than I’m used to from some other shadows I own.

However, the only shades I’m not too fan of in this palette are the two more metallic ones in the larger pans.
I just find them to be a little too uneven, and they’re not as easy to work with as the other shades. So they are a little disappointing to me.
But overall I really like this palette, so I absolutley think that it’s worth looking in to.
