Favorites | Top 5 February 2017

It’s time to talk about some favorites again, and as usual I will link to full reviews at the end of post.

So, my first favorite this month is the Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation.
Now, I didn’t think I’d really like this as much as I do, but this makes my skin look so fresh and healthy.
It covers everything I need it to cover, and it’s, surprisingly, not too oily for my skin, so I’ve really been loving this foundation this month.

For my concealer I’ve been using the Maybelline Fit Me concealer.
Now, I don’t really have a favorite concealer, but this monht I’ve been reaching a lot for this one, mostly because this shade is a little bit too dark for me, and sometimes, for some reason, that just works better with my undereyes.
And this also stays on all day, and I haven’t had any issues with it creasing or anything, so I’ve been liking this alot this month.

Next up I have the Wet N Wild Fergie Highlighter in the shade “Rose Champagne Glow”.
Now, I know that this one was limited edition, but they have renamed and relaunched these highlighters, so it is now the To Reflect Shimmer Palette in the shade “I’ll Have A Cosmo”.
And this is such a beautiful highlighter. It blends in to the skin so beautifully and it gives such a perfect glow to your face.
Also, you can make it look subtle, but you can also build it up if you feel like it, so it is very versatile.

For my eyes this month I have been loving the Rimmel Scandal Eyes in the shade “Bad Girl Bronze”.
Now, I believe that this is supposed to be a cream eyeshadow stick sort of a thing, but I’ve been using this to line my upper lashline, and I do really like the way it makes my lashline look a little bit thicker, but since it’s not black, it doesn’t look as harsh, and I do prefer a softer look.
It does also have some gold reflex in it, which makes it pop a little bit more, but at the same time it’s very subtle if you blend it out.
And since it is a waterproof formula, it does last all day as well.

And my last favorite this month is the NYX Slim Lip Pencil in the shade “Peekaboo Neutral”.
This shade is more or less a “my-lips-but-better” type of a shade, with just a little something extra to it, and that’s why I’ve been reaching for it so much, because it is very easy to pair with any makeup look, and it’s also very easy to wear under alot of different shades of lipstick or lipgloss, or you could just fill in your entire lip with this, and then use lipbalm on top of it.
And it is also very inexpencive, and that’s always a bonus.

So, that’s it for my february favorites.
And I would love to know what you’ve been loving this month, so please let me know in the comments below.

Review | NEW Loreal Infallible Blush Paint

This is what it says on Ulta’s website:
Discover a multifaceted cheek palette that lets you design your look! The L’Oreal Infallible Paints Blush Palette has 4 blendable shades to enhance, highlight, and bring a pop of color to your complexion. The expertly curated shades with saturated pigments stay vibrant all day. This luxuriously silky powder blush glides on with its own brush for a flawless application every time.

High impact color with saturated pigments
Design and define cheeks from light to bright
Pop of color that lasts all day

(This is the only place I could find the claims on these, but I have the Europian versions, so my palettes containt 5 shades, not 4, but I do believe that the claims are the same)

So, Loreal just came out with these blush palettes, and I have to say that I wasn’t really sure if I should get them or not, because the pans are a bit small and I also thought they would be more of a dry powder formula, but these aren’t dry at all. They almost feel like a cream instead of a powder, except for the shade “Peach Fling” which is a bit dry and chalky looking. It is also the only shade that has glitter in it, while the other shades have more of a sheen to them.

Now, when it comes to the pigmentation on these I do think that they are very pigmented, and for my skintone I would’ve rather wanted them to be a little bit less pigmented, especially the brighter/darker shades, because they can look a bit too bright if you aren’t carefull when you apply them, but if you do apply a bit to much you could always go over it with a little bit of your facepowder to sheer it out.
However, when it comes to the lighter shades I find that these are easy to build up, and they’re obviously not as bright as the darker ones, so these might be a bit easier to work with if you’re a beginner or if you are pale like I am.
But, I also think that these shades are wearable for a lot of different skintones, which I do appreciate.

Now, when it comes to the lasting power on these blushes, I do find that they fade throughout the day, so by the 6th hour or so they have faded quite a bit.
But they don’t really fade away completly, so you will still be able to see some color on your cheeks by the end of the day.
And you could also put on a little bit more if it fades a bit too much for you.

Other than that the only thing I don’t like is that the pans are a bit too small, so it can be a bit difficult to put your brush in only one shade, so you do have to be a bit carefull when you dip your brush into the palette.
But I do think that these are good blushes, they’re not the best I’ve ever tried, but they are good enough that I would recommend checking them out if you’re interested.

I got mine from H&M for 169nok a piece.

Review | NEW Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation

This is what it says on the Maybelline website:
Reimagine complete, luminous coverage with Maybelline’s NEW Dream Cushion Liquid Foundation. Available in 8 shades, this innovative liquid foundation puts fresh-faced perfection in the palm of your hand.
Dream Cushion™ Fresh Face Liquid Foundation delivers complete luminous coverage for fresh-faced perfection.

So, Maybelline just came out with this cushion foundation, and since I’ve been a bit hesitant (and curious) to try cushion foundations, I figured I’d give this a go since it is less expencive than some others.

Now, this is supposed to be a luminous foundation, and that did make me a little bit nervous since I can get quite oily in my t-zone, but for some reason I don’t get too oily or greasy with this.
Now don’t get me wrong, I do get shiny after around 4-ish hours, but I don’t feel shiny, and it is very easy to just touch up with some powder.
However, this isn’t a transferproof foundation, so I have noticed that it does come off a little bit if I touch my face, and it does fade around my nose after about 6 hours, or so, but it fades very evenly, and I don’t think it’s something that you’ll notice unless you’re really trying to.

So, when it comes to the coverage of this foundation I would say that it’s a light to medium coverage, because it does cover everything it needs to cover on a everyday basis, but on those days when my skin isn’t behaving the way I want it to, I do feel like I want to build it up a little bit or use a concealer with it, but for everyday this is a good, natural looking foundation.

So if you’re looking for a foundation that’s easy to apply, and that you don’t really have to fuzz with, I’d highly recommend this one.

I got mine from Douglas for 126nok.

Review | NEW Loreal Infallible Total Cover Concealer Palette

So, Loreal came out with a concealer/corrector palette recently, and I figured I’d give it a try and see if it’s worth it or not.
Now, the one that I got my hands on is the Europian version (I believe) and it is a bit different from the one that I’ve seen people talking about in the US (you get two different ones there I think), but I do think that the formula is the same either way.

So, in the one that I have you get three concealers and two correctors, and to be honest I don’t really need a green corrector, and I never really understood the lavender one, but I have been testing them out, and I do really like the formula on these.
I do also like to apply a little bit of the lavender shade on my cheekbones before applying foundation, and it does really help to brighten/highlight without looking too obvious, so I do think that I will get some use out of that one, surprisingly.

Now, when it comes to the actual concealer shades, I do find that they work nicely to cover up blemishes or spots, but I’m not too pleased with the shades that you get, and they don’t have other colors to choose from, so I’m not too happy about that.
But I do like the fact that they are very lightweight and creamy, they’re easy to work with and I do find that they last most of the day.
However, I will say that I haven’t used them underneath my eyes, so I can’t say how they would do there, but for spotconcealing I do like them.

So, if these shades do fit you, and you’re looking for drugstore concealers I do think that it’s worth trying out.

I got mine from Kicks for 159 nok.
