Review | Clarins Daily Energizer Cleansing Gel

On the Clarins website it says that this gentle gel transforms into a silky foam once activated with water. It floats-away all traces of make-up, impurities and pollution—leaving even the most delicate skin looking luminous, clean and perfectly refreshed.

Mild cleansing ingredients help neutralize the drying effects of hard water to ensure comfort.

It’s also dermatologist-tested and non-comedogenic.

Now, to me this feels just like any other gel cleanser, so I don’t think that it feels like anything special, but it is very soft at the same time.

As far as leaving my skin looking luminous, I don’t really notice a differenc, but my skin does look, and feel, very clean and I do feel like it helps to clear up my skin if I have any breakouts, so for that reason I do like it.

Also, this does not irritate my skin what so ever, and it doesn’t really have any scent to it, so I do think that this might work for sensitive skin as well, but I’m not 100% sure.

Now, this doesn’t dry out my skin at all, but at the same time it doesn’t help with my oils, so I think that this would work for all skintypes unless you’re looking for something that is hydrating/mattifying. If so this may not be for you.

Lastly I wanted to mention that a little goes a long way with this, and it is very easy to squeeze out to much, so keep that in mind so you don’t waste any product since you don’t really get that much in the tube.

Review | Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder

edit laure

Reading of the Laura Mercier website it says that this is a lighter-than-air powder used to set under eye products like Secret Brightener, Secret Concealer and Secret Camouflage. While adding an invisible lightening boost, the transparent white colour brightens skin instantly. The micronized pigments will not settle in fine lines or accentuate shadows. Formulated for all skin types, Secret Brightening Powder creates the appearance of naturally perfected skin, while maximizing wear and coverage.

Formulated for all skin types.

This powder has been hyped up all over the internett for such a long time now, and I finally decided to try this.

So I got this for many reasons, but mostly because I was hoping that this wouldn’t make my under eyes look very dry, like most of my other powders do, and I am pleasantly surprised with this.

This is very finely milled, it’s very soft and easy to work with, but it’s easy to go overboard with this, so that’s something to keep in mind.

This also sets my under eye concealer beautifully, and it really does prevent creasing, so I can’t really complain about anything.

With this said, this does contain some sort of glitter, nothing too bad, but you can be able to see it, so if that’s an issue for you, you might wanna try something else.

But I do really like this powder, so overall I do think that this is worth the hype.

Review | NEW Ciatè Patent Pout Lip Laquer

This claim to be a long lasting, color-rich lip lacquer that combines the ease of a gloss with the look of a high-shine lipstick.

Patent Pout combines uber-pigmented lip color with an extremely glossy finish. The ProPolish lightweight formula features naturally-occurring tripeptides, which help to accentuate the lips and create a smoothing and moisturising veil of traffic-stopping color.

These are formulated without parabens, sulfates and phtalates.

So, I’m having some mixed feelings about these, because the two shades I have perform very different from each other.

The pink shade (Canoodle) is the shade that I wanted the most, but I am very disappointed with this, because, first of all it’s packed with tiny, tiny gold glitter, which makes it very metallic. And it goes on so patchy, and so streaky that I just can’t wear it. I’ve tried it alone and on top of a lipliner, but it just won’t look good.

It also starts to separate in the middle, inner part of my lip immediately after I’ve applied it. Also, it clings on to every bit of dryness on my lips and it settles in to my liplines, even though I exfoliate my lips.

Now, I don’t know if all of the light shades are like this one, or if I got a bad one, but I can’t recommend them at all.

The red shade (Bombshell) is very different.

It’s easy to apply, it applies evenly, and it’s highly pigmented, so you don’t need to go over it two times. It’s almost like they have a different formula or something, and this does not have any glitter, so that may have something to do with. However, like most reds this does bleed a little. Nothing too bad, but I would use a lipliner to make sure.

Also, the red shade does stay on through eating and drinking quite well. It loses some of its shine, but there’s still some shine and a lot of pigment left.

So if you’re interested in these, I would go for the darker shades and skip the nudes/lighter ones.

Other than that they are both very comfortable to wear, a little bit tacky and they do have a little bit of a tingling sensation to them, but nothing you’ll notice too much.

Review | NEW MAC Huggable Lipcolour

On the MAC website it says that this is a gel-like lipstick with rich, glossy shine and a feather-light finish that lasts up to six hours.

A comforting, creamy formula in shades that stay luminous for up to six hours. This lasting lipstick with rich, glossy shine boosts collagen, leaving lips looking smooth, supple, sculpted. The unique gel base melts upon contact, allowing each shade to glide on effortlessly with a feather-light moisturizing finish. It also says that this is dermatologist tested.

So, I’m not quite sure what to think about these lipsticks, and I guess I expected them to be better than they are.

Now, I do like the fact that they are very comfortable to wear, and they’re both easy to apply and easy to layer so you can get them to the color they have in the tube (at least the lighter shades), but this is a very sheer formula, and the dark shade is nothing like it looks like in the tube, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re interested in these.

However, even though these are very balmy and creamy, they really emphasize the dryness on my lips, they settle in my liplines and the light shades don’t last for more than an hour.

The dark shade on the other hand stays on longer, and it leaves kind of a stain, but it does bleed a little.

I do also recommend that you use a lipliner to fill in your entire lip before applying these if you want them to look better for a longer time.

With this said, I think that these would be better if you’re more into lipgloss, and are just starting to play with lipsticks, because these do really feel like a lipgloss in a lipstick form.

Or you could use them as a lipstick topper, but if you’re looking for a shiny/creamy lipstick that will last for more than 1-2 hours, I’d skip these.
